Platform Identity Policy: No Business Names, Logos, or Contact Details
To protect the marketing investment that brings you leads — and to keep you covered by ChefMaison's protections — chefs may not display business names, logos, phone numbers, or social media accounts anywhere on the platform: profile, chat, or proposals. This applies even if you already use the same name on your own website or social media.
ChefMaison is a booking platform, not a directory
ChefMaison isn't a visibility platform or a directory where you simply list your existing business to be found. It's a booking platform: we invest significantly in marketing to attract clients, and it's specifically because of that investment that you receive qualified leads directly.
Sharing company names, logos, phone numbers, or social media accounts on the platform would allow a client who was brought in through our own marketing campaigns to contact you directly, outside the platform. That bypasses the system that makes the whole operation work for everyone, chefs included — so it isn't permitted.
Why payment and communication need to stay on the platform
Bringing you a booking isn't just the cost of a marketing campaign. Behind every request you receive, ChefMaison is running and paying for the whole structure that makes the booking possible in the first place: marketing to reach the client, operations to manage the request, the app and payment systems that make booking and paying simple and secure, and a support team available if anything needs sorting out.
That structure only keeps working — and keeps generating leads — when bookings and payments actually happen on the platform. A booking or payment taken outside ChefMaison skips all of it, which is also why it puts you at risk:
- Payment protection. ChefMaison's payment system, deposits, and cancellation policy only apply to bookings made and paid through the platform. A booking arranged outside ChefMaison has none of these protections if a client cancels late, disputes a charge, or doesn't pay at all.
- A clear record if something goes wrong. Every agreement made in the ChefMaison chat — menu, price, date, changes — is documented and timestamped. If a disagreement comes up later, that record is what Support uses to help you. A conversation that moves to WhatsApp or a phone call leaves no trail we can act on.
- Reviews and reputation that build your profile. Bookings completed through ChefMaison generate the ratings and reviews that make your profile more visible to future clients. A booking taken off-platform doesn't count toward that, even if the client found you through us.
- A steady pipeline of new leads. ChefMaison can only keep investing in marketing — and keep sending you qualified leads — when bookings actually convert on the platform. Every booking that moves off-platform is one less data point showing that investment is working, which affects how many leads the whole chef community receives going forward.
You're still free to grow your business outside ChefMaison
If you want to build your own clientele outside the platform, you're completely free to invest in your own marketing, website, and social media under your own name. The two aren't incompatible — ChefMaison is one channel among others you can use to grow your business. This policy is specific to the ChefMaison platform itself; it has no bearing on your business identity or activity outside it.
Does this affect my taxes or fiscal situation?
No — there's no fiscal impact from this at all. All your fiscal information is registered in Stripe, and that's what appears on the invoices sent to clients. The name shown on your ChefMaison profile — where the client has their first contact with you — has no fiscal impact whatsoever; it's simply the name we display to clients within the platform.
💡 Marketing, operations, the app, and support all exist to make your bookings happen safely — and they only keep working when payment and communication stay on the platform. What you do outside ChefMaison is entirely your own business, but on ChefMaison itself, staying on-platform is what protects both the booking and you.
