Keeping Your Calendar Updated
Keeping your availability calendar up to date is one of the easiest ways to improve your experience on ChefMaison.
An accurate calendar helps us match you with relevant guests, reduces unnecessary booking requests, and helps you avoid receiving requests for dates when you're unavailable.
Why is it important?
Receive more relevant requests
Your availability is taken into account when matching you with guests. Keeping your calendar updated helps you receive requests that fit your schedule.
Avoid unnecessary requests
If your calendar isn't updated, you may receive requests for dates when you're unavailable. This can create extra work for both you and the guest.
Save time
An updated calendar means fewer messages explaining that you're unavailable, so you can focus on the bookings you can accept.
Give guests a better experience
Guests can also see your availability when viewing your profile. Blocked dates appear as unavailable, helping guests choose dates that work for you.
Block specific dates
For one-time commitments such as holidays, private events, or personal plans:
1- Go to your app
2- Click in the link Calendar to open your calendar.
3- Click in Edit dates
4- Select the dates you want to block.
4- Click Block. The dates will be automatically strikethrough

To unblock is the same procedure, but then click in Unblock.
Create recurring availability rules
If you're regularly unavailable on certain days — for example, every Friday — you can create a recurring rule instead of blocking each date individually.
- Go to Profile → Calendar and click Edit Dates.
- Select the day(s) of the week you're unavailable.
- Click Next.
- Select the period you're unavailable:
- Morning
- Afternoon
- Evening
- All day
- Click Save Rule.
This is useful for regular commitments, days off, or other recurring activities.
Understanding the calendar colors
Your calendar uses different colors to help you quickly understand the status of each date:
- 🟠 Orange — You are unavailable with your sync external calendars
- 🟢 Green — You have a confirmed and paid booking.
- 🔵 Blue — You have an active lead. The guest has contacted you, but the booking has not yet been confirmed.
- Dates strikethrough: Blocked

Sync your external calendar
You can also connect your ChefMaison calendar with an external calendar to help manage your availability and avoid double bookings.
Supported calendars include:
- Google Calendar
- Apple Calendar (iCloud)
- Outlook Calendar
- Other calendars that support iCal (.ics)
How to connect your calendar
- Go to Profile → Calendar.
- Click Sync.
- Select Add Calendar.
- Follow the instructions to connect your calendar.
How to find your iCal link
If you are connecting a calendar using an iCal link, you can usually find it in your calendar provider's settings.
Google Calendar
- Open Google Calendar.
- Go to Settings.
- Select the calendar you want to connect.
- Go to Integrate calendar.
- Copy the Secret address in iCal format.
Apple Calendar (iCloud)
- Open iCloud Calendar.
- Enable Public Calendar for the calendar you want to share.
- Copy the generated iCal link.
Outlook Calendar
- Open Outlook Calendar.
- Go to Settings → Shared Calendars.
- Publish your calendar.
- Copy the generated ICS/iCal link.
Paste the link into ChefMaison during the synchronization process.
Keep your calendar accurate
Remember to:
- Update your calendar whenever your availability changes.
- Block vacations, private events, and personal commitments.
- Block dates for bookings you receive outside ChefMaison.
- Check your calendar regularly, especially before weekends and holidays.
- Keep your external calendar synchronized when possible.
⭐ An updated calendar means better matches, fewer unnecessary requests, and a smoother experience for both you and your guests.
