Changing the proposal after the client has paid
Once a client has paid, changing the proposal works differently than before payment — here's exactly what to do.
Before the client pays
You can update your proposal freely — menu, pricing, guest count, anything — as many times as needed while you're still discussing details with the client.
After the client has paid
Editing the proposal in the chat or in the app will not change the amount already paid. Once payment has gone through, the value is locked — trying to edit the proposal directly won't update the charged amount.
Any change after payment requires contacting Support. This is because what needs to happen depends on several factors — the type of change, the amount involved, timing, and more — so our team will guide you through the right next step for your specific situation. Reach out to us at operations@chefmaison.com.
Always agree changes with the client first — ideally in chat
Before reaching out to us, make sure the change has actually been agreed with the client — ideally within the ChefMaison chat. This matters because it gives us a clear record of whether the client accepted the change or not, which is essential for us to help you properly.
Quick summary
Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
Client hasn't paid yet | Update the proposal freely in the app |
Client has already paid | Agree the change with the client in chat, then contact Support — editing the proposal yourself won't change the paid amount |
💡 The chat is your paper trail — always confirm any change there with the client before contacting Support, so we can help you quickly and accurately.
