How can I see the chef's availability and rates?

ChefMaison is a marketplace, which means chefs are independent and their availability can vary. On the right side of a chef's profile, you'll find a form to check their availability and request a quote directly.

Check the chef’s calendar

Chefs usually block the dates they are not available in their profile calendar. You can enter in their profile to check it out.

  • Dates that are unavailable appear faded or lighter.
  • Dates that are available appear in darker/black color.

This visual guide helps you immediately see which dates are possible when requesting a quote directly from a chef. This process ensures you only see chefs who are truly available and ready to provide your personalized experience.

💡 Important: Because chefs need time to review requests and respond, same-day bookings are not possible. For best results, submit your request at least 1–2 weeks in advance for private dinners and several weeks to months for larger events.

Chatting with your chef

  • Location: type the address and wait for it to appear in the list, then select it from the list.
  • Date: pick your event date. If your event spans multiple days, use + Multiple days to select a start and end date.
  • When is your event?: let the chef know the time of day for your event.
  • Amount of guests: include children in this number too.
  • Amount of courses: how many courses you're expecting for the meal.

Price indication

The price shown at this stage is just an indication — your final price can change based on your specific needs and any additional costs, such as:

  • Ingredients and groceries
  • The chef's professional time
  • Preparation and shopping
  • Transportation and travel time
  • Fuel and tolls
  • Additional staff
  • Premium ingredients or special requirements
  • Any other costs related to the event

The address you enter is also used to calculate the chef's travel expenses — but again, this is only an indicative starting point.

Getting your exact price

To get an accurate price for your event, chat directly with the chef and explain what you're looking for — the menu, any special requests, and the details of your occasion. Once the chef understands your needs, they'll be able to give you a proposal with an exact price.

💡 The more detail you share with your chef upfront, the more accurate and personalized your proposal will be — don't hesitate to ask questions before confirming anything.
