# What documents do I need to register as a chef?

Getting your profile approved starts with the right paperwork. Here's exactly what's required, and how it depends on your business status.
## Required for every chef
* **Proof of identity** — passport, national ID card, or driving licence with photo
* **Bank details** — the IBAN of the account you want to receive payouts on
* **Proof of Address** — your full residential or business address
## What else you need, depending on your status
| Situation | What's required |
| ---- | ---- |
| Individual / freelancer, no registered business | ID + IBAN + address only. No VAT number required |
| Registered business (KvK, SIRET, or your country's equivalent) | ID + IBAN + address + business registration details |
| VAT registered | Your VAT number (optional, but recommended — it's what determines your commission rate) |
| VAT exempt (e.g. auto-entrepreneur in France, kleine onderneming in Belgium, Regime Forfettario in Italy) | ID + IBAN + address only. Leave the VAT number field blank |
## Why this matters
Your identity document and address confirm who you are, your IBAN is where payouts are sent, and your business/VAT details (if applicable) determine how your invoices are issued and what commission rate applies.
