# Is ChefMaison free to use?

**Yes.** Creating an account, browsing chefs, and requesting quotes are all completely free.

* Browsing chef profiles, photos, and reviews
* Requesting a quote for your event
* Chatting with chefs and comparing proposals
There's no obligation at any point during this — you can request quotes from several chefs, ask questions, and compare menus without paying anything or committing to anything.
## When you actually pay
You only pay once you've received a proposal you're happy with and decide to confirm your booking. At that point, payment is made securely through the platform to lock in your date with your chosen chef.
