# How do I send or update a proposal?

Whether you're sending your first proposal or adjusting one after chatting with a client, here's how it works.
## Steps
1. Open the request or chat with your client.
2. Tap **Update Quote**.
3. **Add all the items.** This is where you add all your expenses — include transportation costs and any other relevant expenses. For each item, click **Add item**.
4. When you add an item, define the **name**, set the **price per person**, **quantity**, and **VAT**. VAT is included by default but can be adjusted if needed.
5. After adding all the item details, click in Save

1. After adding all the items, check the details — menu, pricing, guest count, and any extras — and make any changes needed.
2. Click **Send proposal**.

|| We're completely transparent: you can see the final proposal, exactly how much commission you'll pay, and the net amount you'll receive — all before sending.

Once you send it, the client will **automatically receive a payment link** reflecting the proposal. There's nothing else you need to do — no separate step to notify them. Once they pay, you'll see your reservation marked as **paid**.
## Why the client's total is never exactly your menu price
A small additional fee is added by Stripe on the client's side — so **the amount the client pays will never be exactly equal to the menu you propose.** Your payout, however, works differently: it will **always equal the menu you created, minus commission** — regardless of the small extra fee the client was charged. In other words, the difference is absorbed on the client's side, never yours.
> 💡 You can update your proposal as many times as needed while you and the client are still discussing details — just remember, once they pay, that version becomes the confirmed booking. See **How do I calculate the price for my proposal?** if you want a refresher on pricing it correctly the first time.
## Before vs. after payment
* **Before payment:** you can freely update the proposal if the client hasn't paid yet.
* **After the client has paid:** to modify a confirmed booking, please contact Support.
